FREE EVENT!! Flavours is an annual festival held in the city of Stonnington to showcase the cultural diversity of this inner-city municipality. This family-friendly event will be held in Grattan Gardens, Prahran, just off popular and bohemian Greville Street on Saturday 16th March, 2013. Be invigorated and inspired by the sights, sounds and tastes on offer as we celebrate Stonnington’s cultural diversity. Bring the whole family and share in the uplifting and cosmopolitan atmosphere this festival offers. – Wander the market stalls showcasing arts and crafts from a wide range of cultures. – Learn how to cook different world cuisines in the cooking demonstration area. – Enjoy some of the best Victorian multicultural music and dance performances. – Enjoy free children’s activities – jumping castle, multicultural arts and crafts, face painting and much more. – Check out unique cultural performances from local community groups. – Sit back and relax while watching one of the multicultural short films. – Sample sweet and savoury cuisines from around the globe – Free health checks that will test cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure, waist circumference and lung function. Enjoy an al fresco lunch on the lawns and be entertained by a diverse range of multicultural music groups, choirs and dance troupes. Or perhaps you might prefer to just meander amongst the market stalls brimming with arts, crafts and food from different parts of the world that you can purchase. There will be activities for the entire family including face painting, henna tattoos and an inflatable jumping castle for the little ones. Partake in calligraphy or a game of mah-jong or bocce. And if you’re game, see what the future holds with a tarot card or coffee grounds reading!
