It has nearly been five years since the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami disaster that caused such unprecedented and widespread damage. However, many of the victims are still desperately on the long road to recovery and rebuilding their lives.
As we approach the five year mark since this tragedy, the artist community in Melbourne and various volunteers have come together to put on a concert with the theme “Flowers will Bloom”. The concert will showcase music and dance performances, Japanese calligraphy, as well as the sales and exhibitions of various craft works.
The full proceeds of this benefit concert will be donated to the Japan-Australia Junior Project (Melbourne Representative: Akimoto Midori), which focuses on bringing middle school students from the Iwate Prefecture that was affected by the disaster to Melbourne every year, so that they may experience various life lessons here and use that experience in helping them rebuild their lives back in Japan.
Although this aid is coming all the way from Melbourne, we sincerely hope and pray that it reaches and helps the victims of this disaster.
We thank you all for your warm and gracious support in this matter.
Tickets: Adult $25, Child 6 – 12 years $15
