Wadaiko Rindo on the main stage at Melbourne Japanese Summer Festival, 2015

Dance the ‘bon odori’, try out Taiko Drumming and feast on sushi, okonomiyaki and bento at the Melbourne Japanese Summer Festival at Fed Square.

This free annual festival brings Melbourne’s rich Japanese culture to life. Traditionally held to honour one’s ancestors, the festival program showcases both traditional and modern Japan and makes for a perfect afternoon out for the whole family.

Enjoy entertainment in The Square including martial arts showcases, Shamisen (Japanese string instruments), traditional dances as well as Japanese games and activities.

Don’t miss the food market along River Terrace where you can taste from a smorgasbord of authentic cuisines and unwind with a drink at the bar.
